(2) Q: How much are the living expenses for the overseas students with Government Scholarship each month? How to grant?
A: The living expenses for the overseas students with Government Scholarship are as follows:
Undergraduate students: RMB800/person/month
Postgraduate students of Master Degree Course and ordinary advanced studies students: RMB1100/person/month
Postgraduate students of Doctoral Degree Course and senior advanced studies students: RMB1400/person/month.
The Overseas Students Department will process a Moneylink Card from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China for each of the overseas freshmen after semester starts. At the beginning of each month, the University will transfer the living expenses into the card, and the overseas students take cash at ATM in the banking service offices of industrial and commercial bank in the city.
(3) Q: What are the important points the overseas students should know when they stay and study in Shanghai ?
A: The overseas students should know the following points when they stay and study in Shanghai .
(a) Pay attention to safety in going out, because Shanghai is an international metropolis with a large population and heavy traffic situation.
(b) Take good care of the personal wallets and documents (including passport, residence card and student's identity card) in going out. Once loss or stealing take place, please report the loss to the local police station first.
(c) Pay attention to safe use of the electric appliances. It is not allowed to install extra electric wires and to use the electric appliance with big power in the rooms. It is requested to switch off all the power sources of all electric appliances while leaving the rooms, in order to avoid catching fire.
(d) Request the invoice from the taxi driver in taking a taxi, in order to contact the taxi company when personal belongings are forgotten in the taxi. Request the invoice from the shop assistant in purchasing the goods with large sum of money in the shops, in order to change or refund the goods once the quality problem is found.
(e) During daily life, dial “110” for instant help from police, if any risk or disaster take place.
(f) The overseas students who need to send express mails, collect or send parcels please go to the post office in the Zhangjiang Town at 2970 Chuan Bei Gong Lu, by taking the public bus, Line Tang Chuan, to a stop near Zu Chongzhi Lu at Zhang Jiang Lu, and then walking toward the south for about 5 minutes.
(g) The overseas students who want to visit a doctor in illness please go to the clinical department of Shuguang Hospital (open from Monday to Friday), at 56 Jiang Dong Lu, by taking the public bus, Line Tang Chuan, to Nongggongshang Stop in Zhangjiang town, and then walking toward the north for about 5 minutes to Jiang Dong Lu, and then walking toward the east for about 5 minutes, or go to Zhangjiang Health Clinic (open every day) at 39 Jiang Dong Lu, opposite to the clinical department of Shuguang Hospital. |
